Looking to dial back your phone bill to save some cash? Verizon has a new prepaid option you might be interested in: 500MB of data, plus unlimited US talk and text, for $30 a month.

This new, entry-level plan is best suited for budget-conscious consumers who don’t need a lot of data. It will be available starting Feb. 20.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the spectrum, Verizon is making its unlimited prepaid plan more attractive with the addition of 3G mobile hotspot capabilities and a new, lower price: $75 a month, down from $80.
Plus, for the first time, Verizon is bringing its TravelPass option to prepaid customers, which will be good news if you have a trip to Cabo or Montreal on the agenda. With this option, you can use your domestic talk, text, and data across the border in Canada and Mexico for $5 a day.

Besides the 500MB and unlimited plans, Verizon offers three other prepaid options: 3GB for $40 a month, 7GB for $50, or 10GB for $60. Verizon prepaid customers can switch plans at any time, or add more data, within the My Verizon app.

Meanwhile, Verizon in October introduced prepaid family plans. So, if you have one prepaid monthly smartphone through Verizon, you can now add up to four additional prepaid lines to your account. This option will save you $10 per additional line on the 3GB plan, $15 per additional line on the 7GB plan, and $20 per additional line on the 10GB and unlimited plans.
